Mindfulness Retreat

 

Experience one day of presence and gratitude. Includes sitting, walking, voice and eating meditation, and a delicious Korean lunch. Talks are presented by experience dharma teachers. For beginners to the most advanced. See web site below.

 

 

Discovering Shin Buddhism (intro)

 

This is the seventh year of one of our most popular courses. Learn about the history, basic concepts, religious tradition and spirituality of Shin Buddhism. Begins October 2012. It will meet for 3 sessions in 3 months. Open to buddhists and non-buddhists. See web site.

 

 

Discovering Buddhism 101 (basic)

 

This is the eighth year of our most popular and comprehensive course. It surveys the Buddhist life, his disciples and teachings, and how they may be applied in 21st century America. This course covers the vastness of the Buddhist religion through Theravada and Mahayana traditions. We offer 100 twiice a year: January and April. It will meet for 6 sessions in 6 months. Open to buddhists and non-buddhists. No pre-requisites. See web site below.

 

 

Buddhism 201 - Leadership & Spirituality (intermediate)

 

A continuation of Buddhism 100. and can be taken as a first course in our series (if you have some limited knowledge of Buddhism). This course will deepen the knowledge and practices of the Shin Buddhism and the Buddhist Faith Fellowship. Begins October. It will meet for 8 sessions in 8 months. Open to those who taken Buddhism 100 or equivalent (with approval). See web site.

 

 

Buddhism 301 - Mahayana & Shin Buddhism

 

A continuation of Buddhism 201. This course will explore the important Prajnaparamita sutras, Mahayana thought and the teachings and writings of Shinran Shonin and Rennyo Shonin. Begins September 2012. It will meet for 8 sessions in 8 months. Open to those who taken Buddhism 201 or equivalent (with approval). See web site.

 

 

Buddhism 401

 

A fascinating look into Pure land scriptures, Mahayana teachings and Buddhist psychology and western psyschology and neuroscience. Begins September 2012. It will meet for 8 sessions in 8 months. Open to those who taken Buddhism 201 or equivalent (with approval). See web site.

 

Buddhism 410 & 501

 

Advanced courses thar look into the lay Buffhist traditions from its inception with the historical Buddha through Shin Buddhism. Begins September. It will meet for 10 sessions in 10 months. Open to those who taken Buddhism 201 or equivalent (with approval). See web site.
